“There’s not been better skiing in the last decade than there is right now up at Rikert.
Deep snow, immaculate grooming, spring sun–what a combination!” Bill McKibben – March 2014
Whether you are looking for solitude or community, Rikert offers you the space to find what you are searching for. With over 50km of trails on the Bread Loaf Campus of Middlebury College, there is plenty of exploring to be done. Rikert trails lead through wonderful forests, old farm fields edged by stonewalls, along babbling brooks, and even past Robert Frost’s Summer Cabin. You’ll quickly understand the inspiration this area has offered to so many.
The 5km state of the art snow making system allows for a jump on early season skiing on the Tormondsen Family Racecourse. This racecourse, home of the Middlebury College Panthers, is a FIS certified homologated course, designed by renowned trail designer and Middlebury alumnus John Morton.
The Nordic Center is fully ADA accessible, and offers a full service rental shop. Sit by the warm wood stove and enjoy the great food, warm beverages and cozy atmosphere.
